How I Used Pinterest to Grow My Business

So, you’ve heard about how people build 6 figure businesses on Pinterest, and you’re looking to grow your own online presence, but have NO idea how or where to start. Well, you’re in the right spot, I’m going to share a few Pinterest 101 “secrets” with you!

If you’ve stopped by my Pinterest page, then you know I’ve got a serious crush on Pinterest… It brings hundreds of new visitors to my site daily, how could I not!

Thanks to my focus on Pinterest SEO, my email list grew by 800% over just a few months! My business has seen an amazing increase in sales all because Pinterest sends me so many referrals.

Now, for many bloggers (and online businesses, alike), the main focus is to gain popularity and increased web traffic through organic search results. The best way that I’ve found to do this is with Pinterest!

Having a Pinterest Business account that is properly optimized can drive hundreds of new visitors to your website every day! Of course, these results can take some time to generate if you haven’t done any optimization or Pinterest Ads yet, but today is a great day to start if you haven’t already.

I know, SEO, (Search Engine Optimization) sounds pretty boring. BUT… I couldn’t have grown my business the way that I have without learning all about it.

I’m sure you have heard of SEO, and you might even have an idea of what it is. But do you understand what Search Engine Optimization really does?

What really is SEO anyway?

Search Engine Optimization is the process of gaining traffic from naturally occurring search results when people use search engines. Sidenote: If you didn’t already know this, Pinterest is a Search Engine, not another social media site. Unlike paid pinned advertisements, or promoting on Social Media, these sites and blog posts rank highly in the search results for FREE!

When you enter a phrase in Google, there are literally millions of search results. All major search engines have primary results where posts are ranked based on what the search engine deems to be most relevant to the person searching for the information.

SEO is the tool that ensures your post ranks higher than the rest by incorporating keywords and other important factors.

Pinterest SEO

Pinterest SEO works on a similar algorithm. When you enter a phrase in Pinterest (because it is a SEARCH ENGINE), a whole host of pins appear, ranked by relevance.

And how is this relevance determined? You guessed it!! Pinterest SEO! By choosing keywords that link to your niche, you can effectively connect to a wide audience that is looking for a product or service just like yours!

Do you get where I’m going here?

Pinterest can give your business massive attention and business growth. It was a huge game changer for Women Inspired.

Now, I go into this in a lot more depth in my Pinning for Profit mini course that is included in my Fast Start Blogging course, but one of the most important things you can do to grow your Pinterest views and visitors, is simple. KEYWORDS. You must sprinkle keywords everywhere that you possibly can within your Pinterest profile, boards, AND pins. For example, if your blog is all about parents and kids, then some of your keywords may be parenting, kids, babies, tips for picky eaters, etc. Use relevant keywords as much as you can because the more that you use these important keywords, the more your pins will appear in Pinterest searches.

Another way that I made my Pinterest and blog traffic explode was to use Pinterest Ads. Now, I realize that not everyone will want to make this kind of investment, but I looked at it as just that. An investment in my business. Again, I do go into this in much more detail in Pinning for Profit but utilizing Pinterest Ads works if you are promoting them correctly. Many people don’t understand a few of the simple things that you should be doing when creating ads, but all I can say is that they worked amazingly for me, and I highly recommend them if you’re looking to grow quick.
